Middle School Banquet

My apartment is falling apart! First, somewhere around late November or early December, we lost power in all of our outlets except 4. Then today, the power went out in another outlet and our centrala. (water heater) So now we have extension cords all over our house. There is one in the kitchen that goes to the kitchen, centrala on our balcony, and our living room. There is one in the back of our apartment that goes to all our bedrooms and the computers. I need to get out of here! And fast! I need to go somewhere! I can't even take a warm shower without us having to get the extension cord to our balcony! Ahhhhhhh!

School Started!

Well, we are back to school! Today was our second day. Mr DeWeerd is a pretty good teacher and he is funny. We have two or threeish new people in our class. Jaimee and Cameron were not there before. Bo Ra used to be only in our afternoon classes but now she is in all of them. Study hall is really different. There is no more music or people going to their lockers constantly and us girls laughing really hard at the smallest things. Tomorrow in PE we are doing something outside and I hope that we aren't shoveling snow. That wouldn't be any fun at all. We haven't had a lot of homework so that's good I guess.

There is so much snow outside! I have gone sledding twice so far at Parcul Tineretului. The first day I didn't have snow pants on and Kyle kept tackling me so i was soaked and freezing. My legs still feel a little numb and it has been two days. It was really fun though. The second day not everyone was there yet so i lay down in the snow and Craig and Jon put snow over me and a sled over my head. No one knew I was there. Then when Jon said, "No one's here." I sprang up. Everyone looked really surprised. Whenever I went down this one hill, I was afraid that I would fall into the lake below so I stuck my feet into the ground and snow sprayed up into my face. My hair got frozen. Heather is being really annoying! Ha ha ha! Good bye!

Guess what?!?! Mr Deweird (i think that's how you spell his name) is going to be teaching us history this coming semester. No one can replace Mr McDannel though. I will miss him. I don't know who will do study hall though. Hmmmm... I hope it is not some of the people we talked about that we don't want to teach us. I miss you all and I hope to see you soon! Hello everyone! I'm back! I had a really great time in Hungary. I didn't sleep much, though. We stayed up late every night. I had a really great time with my small group. We played lots of dodge ball, circle of pain, American gladiator, and other games. We had a dance thing and a lock in, too. I am really glad that school doesn't start until the 14th because i am really tired. There is snow here! It was snowing when we left but I didn't think it would keep snowing like this! There is like 6 inches out there! I want to go sledding!

I am really happy that finals are done. They seem a lot easier than they were last year, in 7th grade. Maybe we just have easier classes this year. Tomorrow is the start of Christmas break! I love Christmas! We aren't going anywhere except for in January we are going to a conference in Budapest. I like going to conferences. They are really fun and I love going on SLEEPER CAR TRAINS! I just love them! I like it when the guy comes in and sets up the beds. I like going on the top or middle. I don't like the bottom because it is more fun going on the top. The last time I went on one of those, it was the middle of January and it was so hot in there that I couldn't sleep.

Well, it is December! I am very sad and a little happy. I am sad because it is my last December and also because of something else... I am happy because it is my 14th birthday next week and because it is Christmastime! I don't want to have a new history teacher! Sorry!!! I will blog more often. Kyle is now an adult! That is amazing! It seems like he was just a little kid and now he is all grown up! Now he is Mr Nelstead! Hehehe. Everyone, you should call him that at school. That would be funny. Wow. it is really cold now. On Friday i was hot and then on Saturday it just went BOOM! Cold. I am glad that it is wet and cold. I had a really great time at the Mather's today. It was really fun! First we watched "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". It was a really weird movie. It was about a girl in high school. She is a cheerleader and then she finds out that she is a vampire slayer and she realizes that her life that she lived before she knew was really stupid. So she changes and she has to defeat Lothos, the head of the vampires. She says really weird things like, "He threw a knife at my head!" and "Pa-leeeze!" and stuff like that. It is really funny how she says things though. I have to get off and wash dishes now, so see you at school tomorrow in the afternoon!

Well, its another long weekend! And I have nothing to do today. So far I have worked on cleaning my room (even though its not my mess), listened to Adventures in Odyssey (for about half the day) draw, and eaten vanilla Joe bars. I 'm going to a friends house tomorrow, though. So I hope i won't be bored then! That would be sad. Abby is getting baptized on Sunday! I am so happy! I am going to her church then and so is Renee. We were going to have pizza for dinner, but now we're not because my mom decided to make oatmeal banana hot cakes for breakfast so she's not making pizza for some reason. i like pizza. We have to learn some countries in Africa. Ones touching and below the equator. In america at my school, PCA (providence christian acadamy (blahhhhh)) We had to learn ALL the counties in the world! I thought that i was going to fail because i didn't know them well enough and all the other kids had already learned some of them before I came and I was almost in tears! But i got almost 100 percent. I just forgot to label some of the oceans and lakes and water things. But I got all the countries right and now i don't remember any of them! Ahhhh. I know north Africa more than Southern Africa.
I just had a banana oatmeal hot cake/pancake and they are pretty good! We are having them for breakfast but i think i already said that.

It was really funny because Kyle was watching TV and he was watching something on Discovery about a murder. It said "On October 13, 1989, there was a full moon..." It was really funny because that is the exact date of his birth!

Retreat!

We just got back from our secondary retreat today and I am really tired. I had so much fun! I was sharing a room with Rebekah, Daniela, Abby, and Renee. The first night we put the mattresses on the floor and stayed up really late talking. We played fooseball, ping pong, volleyball, the Ha game, Phase 10, and Apples to Apples. On the last night we had a talent show and the 7th and 8th grade girls did the Hairbrush Song and we mouthed the words. Mr P did a rap which was really funny. Some of the high school girls (Alyssa, Rachel, Sarah, and Sarah) dressed up like boys and sang a song that guys sing. Alyssa was really funny with the drums. After that we had a bonfire and made s'mores. Then we played capture the flag. It was really dark and sooo fun. My team won! I know that we kinda cheated because we stuffed it in someone's pocket but it was still really fun! The person who spoke was Pastor Adam something ( I don't know his name). He did a really great job. He came all the way from California a day before the retreat and he is leaving tomorrow! He probably has LOTS of jet lag! We had a really great time at Casa Elim!!!!!!!!!!! I am sooo happy!

Today we went to the park near our house and played baseball with some other families. It was really fun and I actually hit the ball! I did better than I usually do. (It also helped that there weren't any strikes!) I got a sunburn but it was worth it!

Its really hot here. I want to go to the waterpark so badly! In the summer it kinda gets boring because I'm used to being at school all day so I don't know what to do. I do things like read, watch movies, play games, do puzzles, and e-mail people. I like having it being summer, but most of my friends are gone. But during the school year I get to see them almost everyday.
